State Rep. David Martin today received an Excellence in Education Award during the 2025 Student Technology Showcase at the Capitol, an annual event hosted by AT&T and the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL).

Organizers recognized Martin for his strong leadership in expanding student access to technology and championing opportunities that prepare young people for high-demand careers.
“This award is truly about our students,” Martin said. “Every child deserves access to the tools and training that will help them succeed in a modern workforce. When we invest in classroom technology and real-world learning, we give Michigan kids a competitive edge that lasts a lifetime.”
The Student Technology Showcase, held in Heritage Hall at the Michigan State Capitol, brought together lawmakers, business leaders, educators, and families to see firsthand how technology is transforming classrooms. K-12 student teams from across the state demonstrated innovative projects and best practices showing how digital tools enhance learning and improve student readiness.
“Representative Martin believes lawmakers need to make children their priority when it comes to education,” said Gavin Goetz, director of external and legislative affairs for AT&T. “He voted to follow through on the promise of equal funding for classrooms and school districts, and he is committed to making sure our students receive a quality education.”
Martin has long been an advocate for strengthening career and technical education, supporting programs that connect students with in-demand skill pathways in fields like information technology, skilled trades, health care, and advanced manufacturing.
“Career and technical education opens doors for our students and strengthens Michigan’s workforce,” Martin said. “I’m proud to support programs that help young people discover their passions and prepare for meaningful, good-paying jobs right here at home.”
Martin thanked MACUL, AT&T, and the educators who support students in using technology to solve problems, think creatively, and prepare for future careers.
